Writing is a Key Skill for Internet Marketing

Don’t wince if you don’t like to write and/or don’t feel that you can write. This is one of those things where you must understand that ‘there is no can’t’. You have to provide content one way or another if you want to be a success at Internet marketing.

Don’t despair, and don’t let it be a ‘deal breaker’ though, as there are ways to get around this; but they do not include denial or ignoring the issue. There are different ways of going about this depending on your level of effort, not to mention creative ability and in lieu of either, some money.

Beyond the obvious basic communications through email, forums, texting, social networks, chats, etc., the most important tool that you have in your arsenal of Internet marketing strategies is your blog. If you don’t have one, get one. Absolutely for free, today you can get a basic (and limited) blog set up at blogger.com.

You can actually create a whole website around a blog by using wordpress.com and this is a very intelligent way to do it so that you have an easy way to add fresh content to your site on a regular basis without going into coding and continually adding pages, etc. (with blog posts). A WordPress site does however involve having a domain name and hosting account – This is a very small cost in the neighborhood of less than $10 a year for domain and you can get a decent host for $10 a month or less. (“free” hosts are not recommended). Having your own domain says ‘I am serious about this’.

Beyond basic social communications and blogging, you have other opportunities where writing is a key skill. eMail marketing is certainly a major strategy for Internet marketing and for this you need some sales and ‘follow-up’ messages to send your prospects. This of course is key because you are trying to make a favorable impression on someone. Another major strategy that involves writing is if you are employing article marketing as part of your process; of course writing ad content is also necessary and there are both short and long versions to consider.

Quite frankly when people say they have ‘writer’s block’ it is usually not that they can’t write. It is that they don’t have any ideas about what to write about. This is easier to overcome with a ‘topic’ like Internet marketing for example. You can first brainstorm a list of topics that would fall under this umbrella, such as search engine optimization, advertising, marketing, list building, getting traffic, affiliate programs, coaching, motivation, earning money from home – the list is practically endless.

The best part is by using the search engines to look any of these terms up it will give you lots of information about them. Of course never copy anybody else’s content without permission, but you can definitely get your brain in gear to write by reading everything you can. Even just reading the first few paragraphs of something can bring ideas to mind that you can elaborate on.

If you feel intimidated or have a total lack of confidence about this then think of it this way. Writing is exactly like talking. Can you talk? Most likely you can. So just imagine you are talking to a friend but write it down (or type it) instead.

Also brainstorming itself when channeled through your keyboard can be a great way to start to create an article. Don’t worry about spelling or grammar or anything else – even that it makes sense – just type or write down your thoughts as they come, and then later you can clean it up to make it presentable.

If you do not speak English well or any other possible impediments to being able to write, then you will have to use the services of PLR (Private Label Rights). PLR is usually free or very inexpensive – however typically not very well-written; but you can clean it up. Or you can purchase the services of a ghostwriter (from about $5-$50 per one page article); or a copywriter (can be expensive – use for web pages or formal sales presentations).

In lieu of any of these options you can post other author’s content to your blog, as long as they give you express permission and you include their intact links as they will instruct. (this is a very serious as you do not want to be slapped with a plagerism or copyright infringement lawsuit) or have your site labeled (and excluded) by the search engines as a ‘scraper’ site.

Stay On Top of Working From Home

While it seems so much more relaxed and laid back to be working from home, it is actually just as much ‘working’ as a job – or should be. However just as there are breaks required by law for every so many hours worked at a job, as well as a lunch break, you need to structure your time at home in the same way.

You shouldn’t look at your breaks and time for yourself as ‘slacking’ – that is as long as you actually are ‘taking care of business’ when you are working. You need to look at having a balance in your life. You can’t just work – even if it is necessary to have more than one job, or you go from your main job to work at home building a business.

We are only human. You are not going to win any medals for non-stop work marathons. Those should be the exception only when something unusual happens such as technical problems, or some other temporary project is a priority. On a regular basis you need to take time out to maintain your health – both physical and mental. It’s no joke.

Not to mention eventually getting ‘burned out’ and unable to proceed, or spinning your wheels (working without getting anything accomplished); if you collapse from exhaustion, who is going to run your life? Very real conditions due to over-work for young people as well as older folk, are chronic eye strain, neck, wrist (carpal tunnel, etc)., and lower back pain.

Then there are the things like neglecting your family at the same time. You need to spend some ‘quality time’ with them – whether it is an hour in the evenings, a few hours on the weekends or whatever time you all have to be together. You might understand you are doing all this work for your family but the only thing a child understands is you are never there for them whether working at home or away at a job.

You should be taking frequent breaks to rest your eyes and one thing that is recommended in this regard is to focus on something as far away as you can at least every couple hours. Close your eyes for a few minutes and completely rest them. Make sure you have good indirect light and that your monitor is at eye level – not up or down.

For your back, get up from your desk and walk around the room and stretch if it is not possible to go out and take a walk in the fresh air and sunshine – or to go to the gym for a good workout. Try to always sit straight and have a foot rest (phone book works) to relieve the stress of sitting on your lower back.

Be sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night, and take a whole day to completely escape from your computer periodically, and on a regular basis. It is a known fact that taking ‘cat naps’ makes your more efficient – so take a short nap whenever you can.

Have a plan – schedule your work time and get your work done during that time. You will find that being rested, relaxed and having a life apart from work will make working from home a whole lot more productive and gratifying. Of course hopefully also more profitable!

Step 3: Select all the CSAs you wish to exchange.  You’ll, of course, want to keep your active CSAs.  So only select the CSAs that you’re okay with exchanging for different CSAs.

Step 4: Save your selections by clicking the “Save” button.

That’s it!  Exchanges will begin automatically–usually within 24 hours, depending on what CSAs are available currently.

Special Note: As you acquire additional CSAs, be sure to visit the CSA Exchange every so often to add them to the CSAs you want to exchange.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Why should I exchange my CSAs?
People of course like working with those that understand their culture and speak their native language.  By exchanging your CSAs that live in other countries for CSAs that live in YOUR country, you can put this dynamic to work for you.  It’s a win/win!  Your CSAs will have a co-sponsor that they can work better with…and you’ll create more active CSAs that can grow your commissions!

Q: Will exchanging mean I’ll get active CSAs?
There’s no guarantee that exchanging CSAs will change anything, but we’ve seen good evidence of CSAs becoming active after being reassigned to a co-sponsor from the same country.  But the bottom line is there’s nothing to lose.  If you’re exchanging your CSAs that are inactive currently, you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain by bringing in new CSAs from your country and seeing how they might respond to a new, same-country co-sponsor.

Q: Does this new program have any impact on my PSAs?
Yes!  In fact, it could have a VERY positive impact on getting your PSAs more active, and reawakening PSAs that have been long inactive.  This is of course because all of your PSAs are also someone else’s CSAs.  As they get assigned to new same-country co-sponsors–persons that can personally guide them in their native language and who are aligned culturally–activity could increase substantially!  Yes, a significant boost to overall activity for your entire organization–for every generation under you–could be brewing!

Q: How long will it take for my CSAs to be exchanged?
This will depend entirely on how many CSAs you have to exchange and how many CSAs from your country that are available. Exchanges can potentially start within minutes of choosing your eligible CSAs, but it could take several hours, days, or even weeks to fully exchange all.

Q: Will I be able to see how many of my CSAs have been exchanged?
Yes, these statistics will be provided at the CSA Exchange web page, so you can always see the results of your exchanges, how many are pending, etc.

Q: When I receive CSAs from my country, am I allowed to call them and/or meet with them?
Yes, feel free to work directly with all your CSAs.  This is one of the best ways to get your CSAs actively engaged and grow your business.

Q: Will exchanged CSAs know they’ve been assigned a new co-sponsor?
Yes, immediately upon reassignment, we send each person an email letting them know they have a new co-sponsor from their own country.  This notice included the full name and email address of the new co-sponsor and invites them to make contact.

Q: How can I identify the new CSAs I’ve received through the CSA Exchange…so I can introduce myself?
The easiest method is to use a new filter we’ve added to your Genealogy.  Use the “CSA Exchange Date” to pull up your new CSAs.  You can then use the Genealogy’s group messaging tool to send them your message.

Q: What should I say in my introduction message?
It’s up to you, but here’s a suggestion:

Subject: I’m your new co-sponsor in SFI!

Hi,

I’ve just received the great news that I’ve been assigned as your new co-sponsor in SFI!

Like yourself, I live in <country> and I would love to work with you to help you build a successful business.  SFI is a powerful and proven business platform, and I would be honored, as your new co-sponsor in <country>, to help you in any way I can.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Q: Won’t exchanges be slow at first?
It could be, yes.  Until significant numbers of affiliates join the exchange (with lots of CSAs), there won’t be a large enough pool of CSAs for exchanges to happen rapidly.  However, we expect the program to be well received and thousands of exchanges to be happening daily within a few weeks.

Q: Won’t my CSAs be hurt that I’ve given them up to another co-sponsor?
It’s possible, yes.  That said, the exchange has been created to provide a mutually-beneficial situation.  You may not be able to significantly help many of your CSAs that live in far-away parts of the word due to language and cultural differences.  But by them getting reassigned to a same-country co-sponsor, you may be giving them a huge gift–a gift that may allow them to really take off and find success and financial freedom in SFI.

Q: Should I stay in contact with the CSAs that I’ve allowed to be reassigned to new co-sponsors?
No.  Once they’ve been exchanged, contact should cease.  If they contact you, you should advise them to contact their new co-sponsor.  Note that if you’ve got CSAs that you’ve become friends with and don’t want to lose contact with, just don’t exchange them.

Q: Does the CSA Exchange take into account how long the CSAs have been in SFI?
No, it’s only looking at their country of residence and matching by country.
