Your Vision for Your Online Work At Home Business

Visualization of your goals can’t stop in your imagination. For goals to become reality you need to make a concerted action now and into the future. That means w-o-r-k to make it happen. There is no such thing as wealth without work. Day dreaming can be fun, but it can be counter-productive.

See It!

When we are not being logical or realistic or we have not really defined achievable goals, we can quickly become disenchanted when nothing works out as we thought it would. It is good to ‘aim high’ and ‘dream big’, but if we set unrealistic goals that may not be possible to achieve at this juncture, this can become discouraging.

This is sadly ironic if the person actually believed he could earn money instantly, without first building and developing a plan and then working it. Nothing will ever happen by magic or because we have a vision. It won’t happen unless we tune in to reality and do the work.

If you have never started a business before, there may be lots of false starts. Until we get real and create a plan with reasonable expectations, we are just wasting time and resources – ‘spinning our wheels’, never more than a wannabe. We need to make a commitment just as we would when we start a new job. I will show up and I will work to accomplish goals.

The key to success is to persevere. There will not be even a slim chance of accomplishing our goals if we give up and quit too soon. However, if we can just keep trying, even without seeing any tangible results, there is still a chance things will improve. You never know what is right around the corner so don’t miss it because you quit too soon. If we quit too soon without giving ourselves and the program a fair chance, we will never know what we might have achieved.

With all that said, everybody is not necessarily going to relate to this environment. We need to seriously admit that we do not like working online and do not want to do this — and then move on. There is no shame in this. Not everybody can ride a horse – or even wants to. What we all have in common either way is we need more money. We may as well find a way to earn an income that we enjoy and feel that we can succeed with.

Although it is important to take action while we feel inspired, it is super important to be logical about what we need to do and what we can realistically expect to achieve. If we can build on that, we will have the foundation for a profitable home business.

When You Work at Home You Can’t Go Home from the Office

Your office is in your home, versus you live at the office. You need both a home and an office. This may sound like nonsense but it does have important points. The problem with living at the office is that you may become inclined to work too much.

Having an idea at midnight is a good thing (ideas anytime are good!). You should take action as soon as possible or at least write down the details so you don’t forget what may be a very bright idea. You may also remember something that you need to do. However, if you have already worked more than 8-12 hours, you need to rest. Remove yourself from your work at times as a rule. All you need to do now is make a note to do it soon.

If you work at a job most usually don’t want to bring their work home with them, and it’s best not to. This includes emotional baggage from stress that is created by the whole hamster wheel rut to get to work, be at work and go home from work. If you are self-employed your routine can be varied somewhat anytime you feel the need. When you work for yourself you are free to a certain degree!

The day job has a start and stop working point, and then there is the struggle in traffic as ‘punishment for a job well-done’. The commute, at least is a break from the actual work — if anything good can be said about all the chaos of being stuck in traffic. It does provide a period where you can mentally switch gears from work to home.

‘Some people work to live, and some live to work’ – either way it’s ok. However we need to have moderation and balance in everything – enough work and enough play but not too much of either. With that said the person who loves to work will probably do a much better job. Try to find the good points!

When we rest, we cleanse our minds. It is crucial for our bodies to have relaxation and sleep on a regular basis. People who take ‘cat naps’ are more efficient – sharper than those bogged down by too many details. Taking naps, or at least shutting our eyes for a few minutes is good for the soul. It is not slacking unless we are not getting our work done (and maybe it is because we are too tired).

It is imperative to take frequent short breaks to rest your brain, eyes, neck and arms. Even sitting at your PC or desk for long periods is hard on your back and circulation, so better get away from your desk to stretch and walk around a bit if you can. Just a couple minutes is helpful to your health and efficiency.

Building a New Business? Stick to It

Peoples lives can sometimes take sudden turns, If that happens, we have to take detours. Some examples of changes could be that our day job has increased the number of hours we are required to work there, so we have less time to devote to our home business.

Do what you gotta do

Or maybe it will be that our financial picture changes. We may have seen the cost of something crucial increase, such as our housing cost or utilities. So again, now we don’t have as much ‘spare change’ to use for developing our new business. The last possible disaster worth mentioning here is that we have had a full-time job and have been building our home business slowly, part-time while we survive on our day job salary. We learn that the day job will be eliminating our position and we need to find another full-time income right away.

Ideally we would be able to devote more time to our home business start-up and eventually make that our primary source of income. If you are entitled to severance pay and/or unemployment insurance, you can probably survive in the interim period and still have time to build your business. The point is that whatever the situation may be, don’t give up your idea to build your own business. If you had plans to do it one way, don’t give up just because your plan has to change when life gets in the way!

Create a new plan, do the same thing but do it a different way. The point is not to be too quick to assume you have no choice but to give up the new business you are building. Many people do not consider their home business to be serious. Obviously if you lose your day job before your home business is generating substantial income, you have a major crisis. In that case it is probably the wisest thing to do to find another day job first – ideally only part-time so you have more time to work at home to build the next chapter of your life.

More people could actually succeed at earning a substantial income from home if a million different things didn’t always take precedence over your home business. This is possible because you are not accountable to anyone else. You need to be accountable to yourself. You need to create a real plan that includes a budget and a schedule and commit to it. Realize what your living expenses are and take stock of how much money you actually have to cover them and by what date. Anything left over is ‘free’ to use for your business expenses.

Business opportunity shopping can create a ‘crazed’ mindset just like any shopping can! Sometimes it can be likened to a kid in a candy store, who wants one of each thing in the store. However this can be disastrous for more than financial considerations. It can be really disillusioning because of the expectation of a return on the investment. If you are having no results on one business opportunity, it is likely it will be across the board with all of your other risks. If you are seeing no results because you are not investing enough time and effort, that is what you need to focus on, not quitting.
